Promised Land Film Awards Odessa Chambliss

The Odessa Chambliss Center for Health Equity has received a mini grant to screen the "The New Black," a documentary nationally recognized for its engagement of black, LGBTQ and faith communities around the intersection of race, religion and sexual orientation by Promised Land Film. The award is part of the company's Empowering Equality Faith-Initiative and Empowering Equality at HBCUs program to use the documentary as a tool to advance on-campus LGBTQ inclusion. Title IX prohibits sex-based discrimination in education. The film will be screened in conjunction with meaningful community discussions, viewing date will be announced soon.
