"My heart is so full right now and I am so proud of these students," said Dr. Yusef Kideste. Over the last two weeks, the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice B-CU chapter (NABCJ-BCU) have been hosting a toiletry drive for the homeless population of Daytona Beach. Members of NABCJ-BCU purchased items and received donations to provide needs for the homeless. On Monday, the students prepared sandwiches to go along with the toiletry bags.

That morning, the students passed out more than 70 bags and sandwiches to homeless individuals from Beach side to Ridgewood. Shortly after, the NABCJ-BCU group conducted a road clean up, picking up trash and debris filling up over 10 garbage bags.

"My proudest moment was when the NABCJ community service chair, Jamelia Gunter, stopped to hold the hand of an elderly woman, praying with her after blessing her with food and hygiene items. This is Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's legacy," Kideste added.

Follow along as the B-CU Chapter of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice continue doing great work at B-CU and surrounding communities.
