Daytona Beach, FL- Extraordinary plans are underway for the student-led Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) Bob Billingslea School of Hospitality Management Inaugural Pineapple Anchor Ball (PAB), scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., located at the Hard Rock Hotel, 918 N Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32118. The anticipated event will begin with a pineapple-themed welcome reception, where guests will enjoy a whisky tasting experience led by Dr. Adam Carmer, Las Vegas-based entrepreneur, professor, author, owner and creator of The Freakin' Frog, and the founder and curator of The Whisky Attic, CA. An exquisite four-course dinner will be served at the event to the beat of an authentic live steel band performance, a silent auction, raffle, and more. Proceeds from the Pineapple Anchor Ball will provide scholarships for current and incoming students, making it possible for them to complete their hospitality management degree. Funding from this event will also contribute to the initial phase of the Culinary Innovation Lab, which will support the school’s curriculum.

The event will support the academic and professional development initiatives of the Bob Billingslea School of Hospitality Management, which includes providing hospitality management students with invaluable, realistic, and applicable hands-on learning experiences in planning, organizing, managing, and executing a corporate level fundraising event. The sixteen senior students enrolled in the fall 2019 Event Management course will co-manage and execute the event, along with staff from the Hard Rock Hotel.

A keynote speaker, B-CU Orchesis Dance Ensemble, and additional entertainment will present during the program. Students are expecting strong support from industry partners, alumni, and elected officials for the awaited ball. The Pineapple Anchor Ball will be the signature annual event for the Bob Billingslea School of Hospitality Management and the University from hereon.
