DAYTONA BEACH, FL - On January 13, 2020 the highly anticipated Starbucks arrived on campus welcoming students back for the spring semester.

The first 50 customers received free drinks and free samples were given to celebrate the opening.

“Good idea, wrong spot,'' says Najaida Williams, a junior and student leader on campus, serving the Student Activities Board who supports the idea but thinks revisions should be made such as location.

Students are concerned there will be a conflict in the future while trying to study and maintain the rules in the library location without causing a commotion. Supervisor Tanice Robinson, says she was ecstatic about the idea but assures students that they are just getting a feel for the cafe and many improvements will come throughout the semester. She also adds that they are working diligently to be on one accord with the library staff in respect to the level of noise.

“I’ve been waiting for it,” says Nahjee Young, a senior who has anticipated the opening for months. As a common Starbucks consumer, Young thinks the drink quality is great compared to some others who disagreed. The location not being too bad, in his opinion, but recommends a Starbucks representative continues training with the associates.

“The prices are cheap” says B-CU senior Valerie Day, elated that the prices are so affordable,  menu items ranging from $1-5.

The B-CU Starbucks location will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m. only accepting cash and Wildcat bucks for payment.
