B-CU Computer Information Systems Student Interns with Flagler Tiger Bay Club
Austin Wall, a sophomore, Computer Information Systems major from Portsmouth, Virginia is currently interning with the Flagler Tiger Bay Club, Inc. as a first administrator. Wall learned about the internship through his summer course CIS391 with professor Dr. David Bethelmy. “One day after class, Dr. Bethelmy called me and brought up the opportunity and knew that I was capable of handling the task,” Wall said. “I was shocked because there are seniors and other students in the class, and he decided to choose me, so I thank him for this opportunity he has given me.”
“My responsibilities as a first admin are to make the proper and working changes to the Flager Tiger Bay Club, Incorporated website that also includes modifying the website, updating the website to add new and fresh, and removing anything that is not of value to the company anymore,” Wall described.
Due to COVID-19, Walls internship is virtual. “I am staying focused during this time. I have the mindset; it could be worse. I am always and forever thankful for each opportunity I have to wake up and improve my life at minimum of one percent each day. I use the resources that I am given and take those resources to go the extra mile to reach the next goal.
After completing his bachelor’s degree, Wall aspires to work for a corporation as a web developer. “My dream job is to ultimately end up working at the highest-level position in my field at Google,” Wall concluded.
