The Concert Chorale and Campus Lighting Ceremony Ushers in Christmas Giving Season
One of the many traditions of the Bethune-Cookman University campus community is the annual Concert Chorale Christmas Concert which ushers in the holiday season. The free community-wide event, held Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Gertrude Heyn Chapel, is one of the signature festivities in Daytona Beach; Volusia County, Florida, and brings hundreds from the community together annually for a joyful experience of music, culminating with a campus-lighting ceremony.
"Such traditions are important to the student experience, help to preserve culture and celebrate our faith-based values and principles," said Director of Legacy and Protocol Daisy Grimes.
While the Concert Chorale has performed at many venues throughout the year, including the Dr. Phillips Performing Center for the Arts in Orlando, Director Terrance Lane noted, "there is nothing like performing at home." A reception followed.
