Dr. Donovan Wells to Be Honored at The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday & Legacy Association

The Wildcat family congratulates Dr. Donovan Wells for his service and dedication to the students at B-CU and in the community. This Friday, January 18, 2019 at 7 p.m. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday & Legacy Association, Inc. & NCLC National Christian League of Councils will honor Dr. Wells during its 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major for Justice Lifetime Achievement & LEGENDS Awards Banquet and live concert located at the Holiday Inn Airport N. St. Petersburg, 3535 Ulmerton Rd., Clearwater, FL.


Dr. Donovan Wells will be honored during the awards ceremony. Dr. Wells has helped to build “America’s National MLK Drum Major for Justice Parade, Battle of Bands and Drum Line Extravaganza” into the largest in the nation which averaged an annual attendance of 100,000 from across America and has witnessed 2.4 million in attendance over 32 years and countless millions via ABC TV live telecast to 200 major affiliates and ABC Broadband Internet, according to event organizers.

The B-CU Marching Wildcats and 14 Karat Gold Dancers were the only and first HBCU marching band to participate in “America’s National Parade” hosted in the City of St. Petersburg on January 20, 1985 and marched in it for 32 years.
