School of Religion Assistant Dean Reverend David Allen Awarded Doctorate

Reverend David Allen, Assistant Dean in the Cornelius & Dorothye Henderson School of Religion (SOR), was awarded the Doctor of Education Degree (Ed.D.) at The Nova Southeastern University of Fort Lauderdale, on Friday, June 14, 2019. Dean Randolph Bracy, Jr., and a flock of well-wishers were present to witness the grand affair.

Reverend Dr. Allen is a 1998 Bethune-Cookman University graduate and a graduate of the Gammon Theological Seminary of the Interdenominational Center of Atlanta with the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and the Masters of Arts in Christian Education (M.A.C.E.) degrees.

Dr. Allen’s dissertation is entitled “The Role of Sustainability in United Methodist Churches in Florida.” He will also assume the pastorate of Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church of Daytona Beach, Florida, on July 1, 2019.
