Recently, the Henderson School of Religion (SOR) had the opportunity to be enlightened by guest speaker Dr. Kirpal Singh, a Sikh, and a retired psychologist who spoke to Professional Seminar students and faculty. Dr. Singh told the Sikhism story that there are 25 million in the world who practice the Sikh faith and who believe in Ik Onkar, “One Divine God.” Sikhism is also the fifth largest religion in the world, a breakaway from Hinduism.

In his presentation, Dr. Singh spoke about articles of the Sikh faith specifically identified as the 5Ks. They consist of the Kesh (uncut hair), Kanga (small wooden comb), Kachera (undershorts), Kara (iron bracelet), and Kirpan (sword). The highlight of the presentation was the emphasis of wrapping of the head.
